Our client is a leading NT Civil Construction business based in Darwin who have worked on major defence, industrial, community, commercial and remote construction projects in the NT over the past 50 years. Due to business growth, they now have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Construction Manager to join their team.

About the role

Working closely with the General Manager, the Civil Construction Manager is responsible for strategically managing current and upcoming workflow of civil projects, coordination of project resources and providing a high level of onsite support and guidance to their project management team.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the effective management of people and processes to deliver projects on time and within budget. As a member of the Executive Team, you will review strategy regularly, undertake planning and will oversee the project team to ensure a focus on growth.
Managing construction projects through to practical completionRaising and Lodging Customer Claims as requiredDevelop and maintain positive relationships with clients and suppliersFoster a positive and collaborate team cultureEnsure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standardEnsure projects comply with all relevant safety, health and environmental standardsEnsuring Quality, Client Satisfaction and Financial budgets are metEnsuring the technical aspects of project delivery are resourced and completed.Maintaining adequate reporting to key departments of the companyWorking closely with the key functions of the business, in particular, HR, Finance & SafetyManage a team of Project Managers and Supervisors to ensure effective communication and collaborationBusiness Development for future work avenuesContinuously monitor project performance and implement improvementsCoach and mentor staff to promote personal and professional growthSkills & Experience

The successful candidate for this role must be able to prove and demonstrate the following:
Qualifications or proven experience in Project Management.Extensive experience in managing multiple civil construction projects and teams.Strong Leadership, supervisor and communication skills.Knowledge of WHS and Environmental legislation, AS4801-Occupational, Health and Safety Management Systems, Federal Safety Commission and industry best practice guidelinesProven experience in contract administration throughout project lifecycleWhat's in it for you?
