RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Ron Frigo (Senior Partner)
ABOUT YOU At least 4 years PAE with exposure to and a focus upon Civil/Commercial/Estate Litigation. Some experience and exposure to Building/Construction related litigation legal work would also be advantageous.Strong drive and ambition, capable of working autonomously and managing time effectively.Strong IT, technical and written skills.A desire to continue learning and developing professionally and personally.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with high levels of intelligence.Experience determining client's legal needs, advising and designing tailored legal solutions including in a contested litigious setting.Initial client meetings and onboarding of clients.Case planning, development, and management.Legal research, fact gathering, investigation, searches, and information retrieval.Drafting pleadings, court documents and discovery of documents.Knowledge and practical application of court/tribunal and civil procedure rules.IT, legal software and document management skills.Contacting, communicating and conferencing with clients.Analysing and summarising documents.Preparing for and appearing in courts or tribunals as required including instructing counsel.General and court document preparations (including the use of precedents).Good skillset in document management software particularly LEAP.Monitoring emails / bring up systems.Preparation and collation of briefs to barristers as and when required.Conferencing with barristers and instructing barristers in court.Managing confidential information.Court filing in person at courthouses and electronically as and when required.Effecting service of court documents.REMUNERATION The position offers an attractive salary of $120k to $150k + super for the right candidate that is commensurate with experience.
The position also offers, in addition to salary, the opportunity to participate in a performance-based bonus structure when billing targets are met.
