DirectorateJOB DESCRIPTIONInfrastructure, Planning & EnvironmentClassificationGrade 7Salary$63,226 to $69,549 pa + 11.5% employer contribution to superannuationReporting ToAdministration CoordinatorEmployment TypePermanent Full TimeThe PositionThe Administrator for the City Planning & Development provides administrative support and coordination for planning and building related matters to the City Development Cluster and specialist support to the City Planning & Development Team's.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide administrative support to the City Planning and Development Team's and Team Leader's.Provide advice, information and direction on matters relating to City Planning & Development to customers and the community.Attend to telephone, email and online enquiries in relation to City Planning & Development.Manage and coordinate HPE Content Manager correspondence and information for the City Planning & Development Team's.Coordinate the preparation of Development Consents and associated documentation.Use the NSW Planning Portal to coordinate and manage further information requests, information received and to deliver approved Development Consents and associated documentation.Update and maintain Council's Authority Database relevant to the Applications Management module.Maintain a sound understanding of Albury's Local Environment Plan (LEP) and Development Control Plan (DCP) and the legislative framework supporting Building & Planning.Completion of the Planning Reform Fund monthly reconciliation.Maintain website and social media content for City Development Cluster.Support and assist the Administration Coordinator and City Development Administration Team.Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor, which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.Observe appropriate AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding day to day operations including Equal Employment Opportunity policies, AlburyCity's Dress Code and Standards Policy and AlburyCity's Code of Conduct.QualificationsKEY RELATIONSHIPS:InternalOur PeopleExternalOur CommunityState Government DepartmentsCommunity OrganisationsEmployment ConditionsBased on a 35 hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines.This position may involve work outside normal working hours.
Additional hours over the standard 35 hours will attract a time in lieu arrangement or payment of overtime rates as agreed in advance with your supervisor.This position does not require you to wear a compulsory uniform, however you must follow the dress code requirements within the AlburyCity's Our People Dress Code Standards.
Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely.This position involves working in a predominantly indoor environment and using a computer is considered a core component of the role.
There may be occasional visits to other work locations.
The position requires an average level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake occasional physical activities, including manual handling tasks as part of a normal working environment.
A medical declaration will be required to be completed prior to commencement.This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing.This position is located at the AlburyCity Administration Building, 553 Kiewa Street, Albury with occasional visits to external sites/depots as required.Essential CriteriaCertificate in Office Administration or equivalent relevant experience.Desirable CriteriaClass C (standard) Driver's LicenceDemonstrated understanding of Development Assessments, Town Planning, Building Surveying or related field.ExperienceDemonstrated experience in a customer service and administrative role.Specialist Knowledge And SkillsComputer systems including the Microsoft Office software package.Administration support office functions including excellent keyboard skills.Planning principles and guidelines.Filing / Electronic Document Management systems.Ability to learn new systems / processes as required.Demonstrated attention to detail including high level of accuracy with words and numbers.About UsOur Organisation: We are the facilitator of a thriving, resilient and liveable city full of opportunities and the custodians of an environment like no other.
