The Role In this new position, you will:
Ensure the City meets its obligations and responsibilities through effective and strategic claims management, in accordance with the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013. Lead the management of WorkCover claims minimising actual and potential costs. Support the development of a positive safety culture throughout the organisation to ensure a safe, healthy and productive workplace. Provide professional and specialist advice to People Managers and staff in relation to wellbeing, workers compensation, early intervention, return to work, and injury management. About You To be successful in this varied position, you will have:
Extensive knowledge and experience in the provision of strategic and results-oriented injury/claims management and prevention, and wellbeing services and programs. Demonstrated ability to interpret and have a thorough knowledge of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation Compensation and Occupational Health and Safety legislation and regulations. Sound administrative, problem solving, research, analytical and decision-making skills and experience. A customer service focus with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Patience, empathy and tact, and the ability to judge situations to determine the best way forward. Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience in Injury/WorkCover Claims Management. A satisfactory Police Record and employee Working with Children Check is required for this position.
