The role of Project Manager assumes accountability for delivery, both technical and business change, adhering to City's governance framework.
Drawing on your skills as an ICT Project Manager you'll have the opportunity to lead a variety of large, medium, or small sized ICT projects from foundational technology platforms and infrastructure to integrated enterprise and SaaS business applications.
The first project assigned to this role will be to manage 4 concurrent extensions, totalling approximately 60km, to the City of Gold Coast fibre network. It is anticipated that this project will take longer than 12 months to complete.
What you'll bring to your role: Have experience that demonstrates successful delivery of telecommunications infrastructure Projects. Have experience in managing telecommunications and civil construction providers. Setup the defined project governance structures required to successfully manage projects. Report project status and performance through appropriate governance structures. Co-ordinate acquisition and resourcing for project resources (e.g. ICT hardware, software and services). Liaise, co-ordinate and negotiate with internal and external service providers/vendors for the provision of cross functional services. Manage all aspects of the project(s) including program scope, risks, integration, issues and financial management. Utilise organisational change management practices to ensure a high level of customer input and ownership. Ensure alignment and compliance with the defined project management methodologies, governance structures, processes, tools, reporting regimes and approaches. Be self-motivated, proactive and able to motivate staff and influence others in a desired direction to achieve positive outcomes. Have the ability to draw the best out of others, encouraging them to contribute and to identify personally with group and corporate objectives. Be a leader possessing a high level of communication, and management skills. This would include having commitment and dedication to devoting the necessary time to fulfil the position requirements. Be flexible and adaptable to different organisational cultures and new ideas. A commitment to developing and achieving individual and group performance objectives must always be demonstrated. Possess a very high level of diplomatic and interpersonal skills to negotiate the various issues that can arise from organisational change.
