Fitzroy Mining Operations is a new force in the Queensland metallurgical coal mining industry with a portfolio of existing operations and a pipeline of growth projects.
In our short history, we have successfully reinvigorated operations at Carborough Downs underground mine, breathed new life into the Broadlea open cut and we also have our new underground longwall mine at Ironbark No.1.
About the Role
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, as a CHPP Technician you will be an experienced and qualified operator maintainer who assists with the daily operations of the CHPP and ancillary equipment in a safe and productive manner.
This includes but is not limited to operations of the CHPP and associated fixed infrastructure, Train Loading, operating Heavy Mobile Equipment, coal analysis, diagnostics of faults, and assisting with maintenance inspections, servicing, and repairs of plant and equipment.
About You
Previous experience in the safe operation and general maintenance of CHPP plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment Experience operating and maintaining heavy and light mobile equipment Sound verbal and written communication Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues Basic computer literacy – able to use MS Office suite of programs Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act Sound understanding of hazard identification Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices Ability to work to deadlines and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner Our Operating Philosophy
