Company DescriptionSteelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in Northwest Queensland and Western Australia.
Dawson is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett.
Job DescriptionReporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Belt Technician is accountable for completing mechanical maintenance functions (predominantly belt splicing and general conveyor maintenance) within the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP).
QualificationsIt is essential for the incumbent to demonstrate prior experience and/or knowledge in the following:
