Chinova Resources is a private Australian resources company owned by the Shanxi Donghui Group of Companies, with principal activities focused in North-West Queensland. The company has existing operations at Osborne, south of Cloncurry, as well as development projects and extensive exploration activity on a large and highly prospective tenement holding in the region. We are looking for an Underground Mine Manager and SSE to join our site-based leadership team at Osborne Mine.
About the role: Oversee all aspects of underground mine operations, including planning, development, and production Ensure full compliance with Queensland Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 and all statutory obligations Perform the statutory role of Underground Mine Manager, ensuring safe and efficient operations Develop, implement, and monitor project plans to achieve milestones and operational readiness Build and lead a high-performing team through recruitment, training, and mentoring Foster a strong safety culture and environmental stewardship About you: Must hold or be eligible to obtain a First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (Underground Metalliferous Mining) under Queensland law Bachelor Mining Engineering BEng (minimum) or equivalent Demonstrated experience as an Underground Mine Manager, with a track record in project development and start-up phases Current SSE qualifications or eligibility to obtain Comprehensive knowledge of underground mining methods, risk management, and project execution, ideally with project development and start-up expertise Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Strong knowledge of Queensland mining legislation (e.g., Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act). Technical expertise in underground mining methods and project execution Advanced computer literacy and business software skills; mine planning systems and software (e.g., Deswik) About us: Opportunity to lead an exciting new mining project from inception to production.
