Where you'll be working Chatswood Community Health CentreWhat you'll be doing The Speech Pathology and Dietetics Team Leader (TL) manages a large district-wide allied health service providing services from multiple community health centres – as part of the wider interdisciplinary Child, Youth, and Family (CYF) Community Health Service.
The TL leads and undertakes all people management functions for positions reporting to the role, while supporting team wellbeing, fostering their growth and reflective practice to support high quality, safe, evidence-based, trauma-informed, and integrated client care.
The role provides specialist clinical consultation for staff and colleagues within community-based health services and early education settings. The role works collaboratively as a key member of the CYF Service Leadership Team to ensure that cross-service systems optimise connected, coordinated, interdisciplinary, and trauma-informed models of care - to optimise clinical outcomes and learning for children in their early years, and their life-long potential. The CYF service works with children and families from diverse backgrounds including priority population groups, providing culturally responsive, and inclusive services for children experiencing child development-related communication disorders, and feeding difficulties.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
Minimum experience as a Level 2 clinician, and extensive service management experience in a health or disability service setting. Demonstrated advanced-level clinical expertise and extensive experience working in paediatric speech pathology, particularly children with child-development related communication difficulties including motor co-ordination issues, sensory processing, learning disorders, and/or difficulties with feeding. Discuss your experience working effectively in partnership with families and children from priority population groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children living in out-of-home-care. Please describe your high-level leadership and management skills and experience with leading significant, successful service development, change and improvement projects. Describe your computer/digital systems capability levels and your capacity to analyse and use data to inform service-related decisions. Need more information?
