Children's Social Worker Team: Adoption Location: Knowsley Rate: £ 35 p/h Adoption in Merseyside (AiM) is the Regional Adoption Agency for the Merseyside region covering Knowsley, Sefton, Liverpool, and Wirral. AiM provides all statutory adoption functions including recruitment and assessment of adopters, family finding for children, and adoption support.
Responsibilities: Prepare and assess potential adopters. Conduct training and report writing. Attend AiM Adoption Panel. Support adopters with children placed. Work within an experienced adoption recruitment team. This post is full-time at 36 hours per week. Agile working is implemented in AiM, and the post is seconded to Knowsley Children's Services, the host local authority. Good assessment skills and an understanding of adoption social work practice and processes are required. Understanding of adopted children's needs and ability to work collaboratively with Local Authority Social Workers is essential. Knowledge of Children Looked After policies and procedures is necessary. Minimum Requirements: DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work. Social Work England registration. Enhanced and in-date DBS certificate. Excellent communication skills and ability to make informed decisions. Able to work independently and collaboratively within multi-agency setups. Knowledge of service needs. Competent IT skills and ability to navigate electronic file/recording systems. Ability to write clear, concise, and robust assessments/reports/files.
