Job DescriptionReach Further with us! The Young Hearts service provides professional, confidential counselling, group support and community engagement to children and their non-violent primary care giver who have experienced or are experiencing family and domestic violence.
As the Child Counsellor, you will provide professional counselling services including assessments, counselling, and group work for children who have been exposed to or are victims of family and domestic violence as well as their non-violent primary care giver.
This is either a full-time opportunity providing service across our Rockingham and Mandurah locations or two part-time opportunities working 0.5FTE each (1x working in Rockingham, 1x working in Mandurah) until 24 December 2027.
Desired Skills and ExperienceWhat you will bring To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or related disciplineCounselling experience in working with children in a therapeutic setting utilising person-centred, strength-based and trauma-informed approachesGroup work experience with children and/or adultsSkills in engaging clients from Aboriginal and other diverse cultural backgroundsExceptional interpersonal and rapport-building skillsThe successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check, and hold a WA Drivers Licence.
