About the Role We're currently seeking applications for the permanent part-time role of (45 hours per fortnight) Children's Contact Service (CCS) Practitioner (Internally known as CCS Family Support Worker) located at our Townsville venue.
The purpose of this position is to assist with the activities of the CCS, which helps facilitate contact arrangements, supports children and their family members during changeovers or supervised visits, and provides a safe and secure environment for the child/ren.
Hours of work will be Thursdays, Fridays during the week and every second weekend which attracts generous penalty rates. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate contact arrangements.Support children and their families during changeovers or supervised visits.Provide a safe and secure environment for the children.Apply theoretical models of supportive human interaction, developmental stages of children, conflict resolution, and other relevant frameworks.Undertake assessment and intake processes, including parent interviews, case planning, and reviews.Organise safe and appropriate activities for children to maximise parent/child interaction.Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for parents and children accessing CCS.About You To be successful in this position, you will:
Have a Bachelor's degree in the social or behavioural sciences, preferably with a focus on child development.Have demonstrated experience working with children and their parents/carers and theoretical knowledge of the issues regarding child development, abuse, and/or neglect.Have experience working with people in crisis and/or parents in conflict.Possess knowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation and regulations relating to family law and/or children's contact issues.Be able to work on weekends and evening shifts.Possess, or be willing to obtain, a First Aid/CPR Certificate.What We Can Offer You The salary being offered is between $84,426.28 to $96,580.61 per annum, pro-rata for part-time, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation.
