Allambee is recruiting for a Children & Youth Counsellor/Psychologist to work in our clinical team providing specialist therapeutic intervention for children and young people and their families who have been impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence.

Full specialist training in relation to trauma will be provided.Full and part-time options are available.Successful candidates will bring the following:A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling or related discipline with knowledge and experience relevant to the role and eligibility for membership in the relevant professional association12 months or more experience in providing counselling interventions to children, adolescents and/or adults.
Consideration would be given for candidates who have relevant sector/industry experience outside of counsellingDemonstrated understanding and knowledge of trauma-informed care and practiceAn understanding of family and domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse and the impacts of trauma consistent with best practice theoretical frameworksSound knowledge and experience of best practice therapeutic interventions with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced violence, abuse and/or traumaUnderstanding and appreciation of issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from CALD backgroundsHighly developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbalDemonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and independentlyThe successful candidate must have current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check (or equivalent), and a current WA Driver's Licence (or equivalent).To Apply:To apply, please attach your detailed resume and a covering letter addressing each of the key selection criteria.
