Allambee is recruiting for a Children & Youth Counsellor/Psychologist to work in our clinical team providing specialist therapeutic intervention for children and young people and their families who have been impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence.

Alongside our therapeutic programs, Allambee's Women's Health Service provides responsive gendered health services, combined with preventive interventions and health promotion activities to support improved long-term health outcomes for women.Allambee offers the following:Supportive, team-based working environment within a values-driven organisationThe opportunity to develop your skills in a specialised therapeutic settingTraining provided with a strong organisational focus on professional developmentProfessional supervisionDiversity in job/role with the option for being involved with a range of projects or initiativesFamily friendly workplaceSalary packaging and Novated leasing opportunitiesKey Responsibilities:Provision of evidence-based therapeutic assessment and interventions for children, young people and/or adultsProvision of community-based training for professionals in relation to family, domestic and sexual violenceProvision of crisis and brief intervention for clients with a recent trauma experienceProvision of triage screening assessments for new referrals and active waitlist management support for clientsDesign and delivery of evidence-based group counselling interventions and psychoeducational programsInteragency consultation and collaborative case managementActive engagement in reflective practice, clinical supervision and professional developmentAbout You:Allambee is looking for a passionate, motivated individual who either has experience in working with trauma or who has experience in counselling and is looking to make a move into this specialized area.
Full specialist training in relation to trauma will be provided.Full and part-time options are available.Successful candidates will bring the following:A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling or related discipline with knowledge and experience relevant to the role and eligibility for membership in the relevant professional association12 months or more experience in providing counselling interventions to children, adolescents and/or adults.
Consideration would be given for candidates who have relevant sector/industry experience outside of counsellingDemonstrated understanding and knowledge of trauma-informed care and practiceAn understanding of family and domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse and the impacts of trauma consistent with best practice theoretical frameworksSound knowledge and experience of best practice therapeutic interventions with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced violence, abuse and/or traumaUnderstanding and appreciation of issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from CALD backgroundsHighly developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbalDemonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and independentlyThe successful candidate must have current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check (or equivalent), and a current WA Driver's Licence (or equivalent).To Apply:To apply, please attach your detailed resume and a covering letter addressing each of the key selection criteria.
