We're looking for an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Cook to join our team part-time or full-time, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating healthy meals for children and will be committed to maintaining high standards in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks using fresh, high-quality ingredients.Ensure all meals meet children's dietary requirements and preferences.Work within health, safety, and hygiene standards to create a clean and efficient kitchen environment.Collaborate with our educators to make mealtimes a positive, engaging experience for children.Work collaboratively with educators to support the centre's curriculum, incorporating cooking learning experiences.Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked kitchen, managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.Engage with children to teach them about healthy eating, nutrition, and the origins of their food.Adhere to the centre's policies and procedures, including health and safety standards.Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.A passion for fresh, healthy food and sustainability.Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.Ability to plan and prepare menus that meet dietary guidelines and cater to various dietary requirements.Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.A current Food Safety Supervisor and Food Handling Certificate and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain these).Why Join Us?
