Child Sexual Assault Counsellor | Northern Territory12 week + locum contract working within a regional community in the Northern Territories.
About the RoleJoin a dedicated team providing crisis intervention and long-term counselling to children, young people, and their families affected by sexual violence. This role focuses on delivering specialised therapeutic services to children and young people, contributing to crisis responses and community education to raise awareness and prevent sexual assault.
Key Responsibilities Provide counselling and support to children, young people, and their families affected by sexual assault.Participate in multidisciplinary crisis response and child abuse taskforce meetings.Deliver training and advice to raise awareness and support prevention efforts, with a focus on children and young people.Build relationships with community services and health providers to enhance support for young clients.Participate in the on-call roster as required.Maintain service quality, safety, and workplace standards.Minimum Requirements A degree level qualification which gives eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, the Australian Psychological Society, or equivalent which is appropriate to the position OR AHPRA registration (Social Worker or Psychologist).Australian Working Rights or Valid Visa.Experience providing therapeutic counselling for children and young people, experience working with sexual assault victims preferable.Knowledge of crisis intervention methods and best practice models, particularly for children and young people.Teamwork skills and awareness of Aboriginal cultural issues.Experience in education, training, or community capacity building with a focus on young people.Ability to interact effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds.What's available Competitive hourly locum rates.Free accommodation and travel/flights.Opportunity to grow and expand your skill set with a supportive clinical director.Why Apply?Make a meaningful impact by supporting children, young people, and their families in a multidisciplinary environment dedicated to healing and prevention.
