If so, we would like you to consider joining our team in the role of a Child Safety Engagement Officer.
The role sits in the Strategic Reform Team and works to support ACT public schools to implement the 10 ACT Child Safe Standards by providing guidance to help create environments that prevent and address child abuse and harm.
This role also offers guidance on policies and practices regarding sexualised behaviours displayed by students, to support the prevention and response to instances of sexual harm between students.
You will assist schools by developing and implementing plans that support Child Safety; deliver presentations and training; engage and collaborate with school communities and other areas of the Education Support Office; and provide policy advice to ensure alignment with ACT Child Safety Standards Scheme and best practice responses.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.Please note, this position involves activity-based working (ABW).
Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
