Townsville, Queensland 4810, Australia • Full-timeDescriptionSummary:The Child Psychologist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating psychological disorders, emotional issues, and developmental delays in children. They work with children of various age groups, from infancy to adolescence, and provide age-appropriate therapy and counseling. The Child Psychologist collaborates with parents, educators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that children receive comprehensive care.Responsibilities:Provide psychological evaluations for children with emotional, mental, or behavioral concerns.Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for children, based on findings from evaluations.Provide therapy sessions for children using a variety of approaches such as play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and family therapy.Perform psychological testing on children in order to help diagnose learning disabilities, developmental delays, and other related issues.Collaborate with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans, provide updates and monitor progress.Document patient's progress, improvements or setbacks, and communicate this information to provide diagnosis and develop appropriate treatment plans.Act in accordance with ethical principles and mandatory reporting requirements to identify, assess and report signs of child abuse and neglect.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or related field.A license to practice psychology is required.Comprehensive knowledge of child development and mental health.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work with parents, educators, and other healthcare professionals.Knowledge of different treatment modalities, counseling techniques, and other therapeutic practices appropriate for children.
