(KWHB) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia. Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is currently looking for a Child Health Program Coordinator
to join their team for an opportunity in the Katherine West region in the NT. This position will be well suited to someone who is a Registered Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner with extensive experience working with children in remote health environments. The focus of the child health program is early intervention for children in the KWHB region, including strengthening existing child health surveillance, child health promotion, and targeting growth, development, anaemia, skin and ear health. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Coordinate the maintenance and review of the child health program across the KWHB region. Prioritise and coordinate the delivery of child health services based on needs identified through surveillance of the child health program. Provide clinical leadership to Primary Health Care Centre staff in relation to identification and treatment of disease identified in children in the KWHB region. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide quality evidence-based health information to health care providers. Attend onsite Paediatrician visits where possible and oversee recommended follow-up in collaboration with KWHB General Practitioners.
