Position OverviewThe Child Health Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering child health services in accordance with the KAMS Model of Care in the beautiful Kutjungka Region! This role requires a proactive approach to enhancing child health outcomes through clinical services, community engagement, and partnership development.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular health checks for children aged 0 to 5 years, ensuring adherence to immunisation schedules.Manage cases of children at risk and facilitate referrals to child health specialists as needed.Collaborate with stakeholders to identify gaps in child health services and develop strategies to address them.Contribute to health promotion initiatives and training programs for community members and healthcare providers.Collect and analyse health data to inform service delivery and improvement efforts.Provide mentorship and support to staff involved in child health services.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will bring a combination of clinical expertise and a passion for community health. You will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively, adapting to the unique challenges of remote healthcare delivery.
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and Post Graduate qualifications in Child Health.Experience in maternal and child health services within a Primary Health Care setting.Understanding of the KAMS Model of Care and the specific health challenges faced by Aboriginal communities.Strong communication skills and the ability to facilitate training and educational sessions.Current WA driver's licence, Working with Children's Check, and National Police Clearance.Willingness to travel frequently to remote communities, including overnight stays.Salary & BenefitsThis position offers an annual salary of $120,292 per annum pro rata, along with a retention allowance of $10,000 after two years of continuous service. Additional benefits include reimbursement for isolation airfare up to $2,000, a single district allowance of $2,740 pro rata, and an annual airfare of $1,285 following 12 months of continuous service.
