Our health centres service nine communities spread over 45,000 square kilometres in the Big Rivers region. The Sunrise footprint covers Aboriginal communities that have some of the most untouched beautiful landscapes to explore where the locals are welcoming and ready to share their culture. How You'll Make a Difference Sunrise is now looking for a for a full-time Child Health Nurse based in Ngukurr, NT. This role is pivotal in delivering and implementing the Connected Beginnings Program, reporting directly to the Child and Family Health Coordinator, and is accountable for providing comprehensive child health services tailored to community needs. More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensuring effective program delivery for children aged 0-5, focusing on growth, development, and immunisations Liaising with multidisciplinary teams for efficient client care including referrals and case conferences Providing antenatal and postnatal care services, including healthy eating advice, referrals, and breastfeeding support Conducting child health and development checks and hearing screenings Assisting in establishing supportive relationships within families and the community Educating stakeholders and establishing pathways with internal and external stakeholders Working closely with community elders to ensure cultural and social benefits of the program Participating in the development and review of organisational plans and quality improvement activities What You'll Bring to the Team To qualify, you will need AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse/Nurse/Midwife or Child Health Nurse. Previous demonstrated experience in child health programs will be considered essential, as will remote experience. A background in an Aboriginal Health setting will be held in high regard.  As our ideal candidate, you will possess strong communication and management abilities to effectively deliver long-distance programs and work within a multidisciplinary team. Your capacity to develop and implement Health Promotion programs will be crucial to your success. Stakeholder engagement and the ability to foster and develop relationships will also be imperative.  This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated health professional who is passionate about making a positive impact on child health outcomes within a culturally rich setting. Please note:   A current open Driver's License is a requirement for this position. Confirmation of employment is dependent on the outcome of a Criminal History Check and successful application for an Ochre Card. About the Big Rivers Region The Big Rivers region (a 3 hour drive from Darwin) begins south of Kakadu National Park encompassing Pine Creek, then extends over 500km south to Kalkaringi and stretches across the width of the Territory between the Western Australia and Queensland borders. The region is significant in scale, covering over 360,000 square kilometres and accounting for an area greater than that covered by Germany. The region consists of a number of varied natural environments including vast rivers, tropical forests, rocky escarpments and savannah plains.
