About the OpportunityMallee Family Care is seeking a full-time Child and Family Services - Practice Lead based in Mildura, VIC. Reporting to the Executive General Manager of Child and Family Services, this role focuses on enhancing the practice skills and knowledge across Child and Family Services and is pivotal in leading a culture of evidence-informed, child-centred, and strengths-based practice.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading the development of practice excellence across all Child and Family ServicesProviding expert advice and guidance to programs and practitioners on working with children and familiesProviding case consultation and technical input on complex cases as requiredBuilding the expertise of Community Services practitioners through training and professional development initiativesEstablishing and maintaining effective working relationships with CFS Leadership teamsPerforming a cross-regional role to enhance collaboration and learningAbout YouTo qualify, you will need a relevant degree in Social Welfare, Psychology, and/or Social Work, including experience in Trauma Informed Care/Therapeutic practices. Extensive experience working with children and families in the community services sector and demonstrated leadership experience are also essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Proven ability to guide practice collaboratively and constructivelyDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal communities, families, and childrenKnowledge of the Children and Young Person (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and detailed understanding of NSW Children's Guardian OOHC Standards/Best Interest Case Practice model and the Children, Youth and Families Act, 2005Proficiency in report writing and record maintenanceDemonstrated computer skills and literacyA current driver's license, a willingness to travel, and preparedness to be accommodated overnight is essentialThis is a transformative opportunity for a proactive and supportive leader.
