I-MED Mt Isa is seeking a Chief Technologist for our busy public hospital site due to the retirement of our current Chief. The position is a permanent or fixed term contract opportunity in Mt Isa Hospital which is a Level 4 Specialist Service Base Hospital, with a total of 80 beds. This hospital serves as the primary referral centre for the Northwest Hospital & Health Service, attracting patients from a wide area for its services.
The Mt Isa clinic is a 24/7 hospital operation that conducts approx. 150 procedures daily, offering general X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, mammography, OPG, theatre, echocardiographs and a range of interventional procedures. This region is intricate, offering essential services to rural and remote communities, including First Nations communities and a significant mining population. Mt Isa offers a unique medical imaging experience due to its remote location and diverse caseload. Medical Imaging Technologists might find themselves scanning a crocodile one moment and addressing complex cases influenced by the area's distinctive environment the next. This variety allows for rapid skill development and provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to expand expertise in a truly exceptional setting.
