Chief Steward(Ess)

Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a Chief Steward(ess) for an 80m Sail Yacht.
Requirements:6+ years previous experience.STCW, ENG1, PDSD, F&H L2/3.Ideally AUS visa – vessel can assist.Excellent service skills required and a fine eye for detail.Will be in direct contact with the owners and guests.Project management skills, budget management and accounting, experience with shipyards and dealing with contractors, provisioning management, schedule planning, organisational skills.Purchasing, budgeting, and training.Job Description:This is a very hands-on chief stew role where you are in direct contact with the owners on a regular basis (on & off trip).
Getting stuck in with all yacht duties including laundry, housekeeping, service and safety.
Overseeing three other stews and working closely with captain.
Start date: 12 January
Location: Tasmania
Salary: EUR 6500
Leave: Rotation 10/10 (TBD)
Training budget available after 1 year onboard, with masters and owners' approval.
Must be direct benefit to the yacht.
Vessel Program and itinerary: Private & Charter, cruising NZ until May, 7 month refit in Auckland May-Dec, 2026, Pacific, Asia cruising.
