With a strong security-first mindset, you'll ensure that every line of code is built for resilience. You'll also lead by example, mentoring and inspiring others to develop their engineering skills and create world-class applications.We're interested in hearing from people who:Thrive on building large-scale enterprise software and have the experience to prove it.Bring a broad technical background with a strong foundation in engineering.Have successfully led teams through multi-year builds, ideally in a similar role at an enterprise level or as a CTO at a scaleup or ASX 200 organization.Have hands-on experience guiding teams in a DevSecOps model, ensuring security is integrated from the start.Take a pragmatic approach to addressing technical debt, balancing commercial needs and technical priorities.Can identify, secure support for, and execute on a clear technical direction and strategy.Have a track record of solving complex technical challenges, including implementing new tooling and sunsetting obsolete systems.Encourage risk-taking, challenge the status quo constructively, and foster collaboration across diverse, inclusive teams.Skills Required:This is a hands-on, highly technical role, and you'll thrive if you have experience across a range of technologies, tools, and frameworks, including:Building 3-tier applications in both on-premises and cloud environments, particularly with:Frontend: React, Redux (preferred), or Angular.Backend: .Net Core (preferred), Java or Rust.Database: Experience with structured and non-structured, from both an admin and usage perspective.Designing and implementing microservices and highly scalable APIs.Using a variety of scripting and programming languages, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or Python.Working with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus etc.Managing infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.Ensuring quality with automated testing (Unit Testing and Regression Testing).Designing robust and secure solutions and systems with a focus on Application Security and Observability.Maintaining code quality through peer programming, code reviews, and automated release management.Leading teams and mentoring engineers to develop their technical and leadership skills.Experience with Configuration Management and Containerisation.If you're ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role that allows you to lead, innovate, and make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you!If you're already part of the Commonwealth Bank Group (including Bankwest, x15ventures), you'll need to apply through Sidekick to submit a valid application.
