Their central Laboratory is seeking to appoint a Chief Scientist to join and help lead their dynamic team in Biochemistry.About the role As their new Chief Scientist in Biochemistry you will lead and support the strategy and operations of the department, your responsibilities will include:Preparation and proactive management of the annual operating plan and financial budgets for the departmentMonitor and report on monthly operational results. Prepare and submit detailed annual business plan for the department.Skills to initiate and manage change to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and department structures.Ensure all work practices and procedures comply with NATA/TGA/NPACC regulations.Supports and facilitates the development of work team members' knowledge and skills.Provides timely feedback and removes barriers to performance relative to expected standards.About youTo be successful in this role, you will be self-motivated people leader with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. You will also demonstrate:Diagnostic skills relating Biochemistry and Special chemistry. Significant experience managing a highly automated laboratory with expert knowledge of quality assurance systems.Sound experience with laboratory based analytical tasks, method validation and verification, as well as clinical result validation and interpretation. Sound experience with routine internal quality control and external quality assurance procedures.
