About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Scientist – Anatomical Pathology to lead and manage Anatomical Pathology laboratories, including Histology, Cytology, Electron Microscopy, Mortuary, and Administration.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the planning and delivery of cutting-edge pathology services while fostering a positive workplace culture and driving innovation and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Anatomical Pathology team, delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service. Oversee budgets, staffing, procurement, and contract management, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and requirements. Implement new technologies and services through strategic planning and effective change management practices. Collaborate with clinical leaders and stakeholders to align diagnostic services with operational needs. Promote a safe and supportive work environment, adhering to Work Health & Safety and quality standards. About You:
You are a values-driven leader with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams. You bring strategic thinking, operational expertise, and a strong focus on delivering exceptional pathology services.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Tertiary qualification in Medical Laboratory Science or related field. At least five years of supervisory experience in an Anatomical Pathology laboratory. Knowledge of accreditation standards and quality frameworks relevant to pathology services. Proven ability to manage laboratory operations, staff, and budgets effectively. Strong understanding of quality assurance practices and compliance requirements. Postgraduate qualification in Anatomical Pathology or related field. Experience as a Technical Assessor.
