Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services)You will be joining a reputable foreign bank as Chief Risk Officer based in Sydney with a focus on development and growth within a high-performing and dynamic work environment.About the CompanyThe company is a reputable foreign bank looking to develop their presence here in Australia during a period of growth within a dynamic and high-performing work environment in Sydney.About the RoleResponsibilities include:Act as the bank's representative throughout the entire branch license application period, coordinating all necessary documentation and communication with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and timely approval.After the branch license is granted, fulfill standard CRP roles to ensure the branch operates within regulatory frameworks and adheres to best practices, including:Develop a comprehensive risk control framework tailored to the branch's specific needs, ensuring that effective management procedures are in place to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.Regularly create and refine risk management policies and procedures to address emerging risks and align with regulatory changes, ensuring that all staff are trained and informed about their roles in risk management.Support the general manager by taking on various managerial responsibilities as needed, which may include strategic planning, team development, and performance monitoring, to enhance branch operations and achieve organizational goals.About YouYou have:A Bachelor's degree or above which meets the regulatory requirement for a CRO position.Minimum 15 years of work experience in the Australian banking sector.Experience in risk management within a foreign bank.Proficiency in local risk and compliance requirements.Experience in liaising with Australian financial authorities such as APRA and ASIC.Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and management skills with an ability to understand and work in a multicultural environment.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.To apply please click apply or call Phoebe Garrett on 02 8289 3134 for a confidential discussion.
