Chief Risk Officer

Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services) A highly respected and trusted financial services institution, our client is an established, market leading and mutual owned business which is committed to remaining at the forefront of its industry and is renowned for its focus and commitment to customer/investor outcomes. A rare opportunity now exists for a senior governance professional to impact and drive enterprise-wide risk management in this pivotal Chief Risk Officer role.
Reporting to the CEO and as a key member of the Executive Leadership team, you will be responsible for the leadership, management and performance of the Risk and Compliance functions, and you will assist with shaping the risk management strategy, driving a positive organisational risk culture. As a critical advisor to the Executive Leadership Team, Board and Risk & Compliance Committee, you will ensure that strategic and operational risks are identified, assessed, mitigated and monitored in line with best practice. You will also develop and execute a proactive regulatory engagement strategy for risk, fostering a collaborative and transparent relationship with relevant regulators.
An established or emerging governance leader, you will have 10 years plus experience in Risk and Compliance within the Australian Financial Services Industry, and you will be qualified in law or other business related discipline. This high impact role in a medium sized organisation will suit a hands-on, outcomes-focused leader, with well-developed experience in influencing an organisation across a broad scope of risk and compliance activities. A skilled communicator, you will deliver pragmatic and commercially relevant advice, with the ability to succinctly convey complex information to a wide range of internal and external parties and stakeholders to build trust, influence and understanding.
