At the end of the day, we are people supporting people – and we need you to help us do this.Following our recent restructure, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer to be responsible for the day-to-day operations and major functions of our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for disability advocacy, and a proven track record in operational management within the non-profit sector.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead the development and implementation of organisational policies and standards that align with our mission. Set clear objectives to guide service delivery and operational excellence.Provide day-to-day leadership and management across all areas of the organisation, directing efforts to fulfil our mission and achieve specific goals while ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.Assess changing circumstances within the sector and respond proactively by issuing clear directives to staff, ensuring our services remain relevant and impactful.Work closely with departmental heads and team leaders to discuss and optimise operational methods, resource allocation, budgeting, and human resource needs, fostering a culture of collaboration.Authorise funding for key initiatives and policy implementation programs that enhance our service offerings and community outreach.Represent our organisation at public events, negotiations, and forums, advocating for our mission and building relationships with stakeholders, partners, and the community.Oversee the preparation of reports, budgets, and forecasts, and present findings to the Board of Directors, ensuring transparency and accountability in our operations.Select, mentor, and manage senior staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in service delivery.Oversee various functions including finance, human resources, and program operations, ensuring all areas are aligned with our mission and strategic goals.EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will possess the following:Experience – At least 12 months' experience in senior management – experience working with charities is highly desired (but not essential for the right candidate). Experience in strategic planning, financial oversight, and team development is essential.Qualifications – Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) or higher; however, in some cases we will consider experience in lieu of formal qualifications.Job Type: Full-timeApplications for this position will be accepted for four weeks.
