Chief Operating Officer: The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership, strategic direction, and management of all services across Capecare operations to ensure the provision of excellent care and support services, in accordance with Capecare's purpose, vision and values.
Lead the delivery of professional, high quality, person-centred services across all areas of the business in compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards.Manage the delivery of excellent clinical care and services to residents.Oversee service operations to maximise funding opportunities through accurate and comprehensive documentation of client care and the associated care needs.Identify and champion opportunities for innovation across Capecare's operations and service settings.Inspire and motivate the clinical and care team to deliver a positive service culture for fellow staff, volunteers, residents, and their families.Develop positive and productive partnerships with all stakeholders involved in residential services including government and non-government agencies, external organisations and represent Capecare in industry forums or by serving on committees.Actively manage residential income, particularly through subsidies and support the Admissions Co-ordinator and the Facility Managers to manage waitlists.Comply and adhere to the objectives and directives as outlined in the Capecare Strategic Plan.In consultation with the Chief Executive Officer drive business growth across all service areas to ensure financial sustainability.Quality & Compliance: Lead the quality team to ensure overall performance of Aged Care Services (business, clinical, quality and customer service) is achieved and plans in place to remedy adverse performance.Monitor relevant industry legislation, regulation, codes of practice and standards updates to ensure ongoing compliance within operations at all times.Ensure full adherence across Capecare to all policies, procedures, administrative and documentation requirements.Oversee the organisation's accreditation preparation to ensure Capecare remains fully accredited and well prepared for both announced and unannounced visits from regulatory agencies.Oversee the robust implementation of quality processes include mandatory reporting, serious incident reporting, self-assessment, external and internal auditing, feedback and quality plans.Ensure compliance with, and actively contribute to, quality improvement activities by initiating continuous improvement suggestions and encourage others to make suggestions as required.Leadership: Create and maintain a high performing clinical team providing support and advice where needed.Mentor and support Facility Manager and Quality & Governance Manager to ensure compliance with the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Quality Standards including the provision of support during external audits.Foster a working environment that supports and encourages creative approaches to improvement, innovation and transformation within the organisation.As part of the Executive Management Team, manage the business resources to achieve organisational goals within a dynamic operating environment and in accordance with regulatory governance, risk management, ethical, equity and commercial requirements.Conduct and participate in professional support, supervision, performance reviews and management to develop and encourage staff to grow professionally and personally.About you: Qualifications in Registered Nursing with current AHPRA registration (preferable).Qualifications in Health Service Management or Aged Services Management (highly desirable).Experience in senior management position.Sound understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards.Experience in managing people and resource allocations while balancing priorities.Experience in development of systems, processes, and policies that support and enhance organisational strategy.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.Capecare is a values-driven organisation looking to attract an individual who has a real passion for the Aged Care industry providing exceptional care to our clients.
