The regions two main centres are the towns of Karumba, a beautiful fishing village and Normanton the hub of the region.About the RoleAn exciting newly created opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide strategic leadership within a dynamic local government organisation. The role involves overseeing a broad range of critical functions to ensure the continued success of council operations and the delivery of essential services to the community.The COO will manage key business support areas including finance, governance, ICT, and capital projects, while also driving organisational growth through strategic planning and operational improvement. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the long-term vision and strategy of the Council.This role requires a highly skilled leader with proven experience in a senior management position within local government or a similar sector.
