Gold Coast Health delivers a broad range of secondary and tertiary health services across more than 20 facilities, including three hospitals and two health precincts.
Reporting to the Health Service Chief Executive (HSCE) as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a trusted advisor to the HSCE and Health Service Board on the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical service performance in alignment with the broader strategic plan. The CMO is responsible for the standard of clinical care and clinical performance across GCHHS and has key clinical oversight responsibility. The role also provides professional leadership for medical workforce planning, performance and optimisation and capability development.
This is a role for a strong and collaborative leader with a proven track record of clinical leadership and service delivery at a strategic level in a complex, clinical service environment. Possession of an MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, plus specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is a requirement for this role, together with evidence of vaccination, or able to be vaccinated against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B. Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (or evidence of significant progression towards) will be highly regarded.
