IMT strategically partners with the whole of CSIRO to deliver secure and adaptive data and innovative information and technology solutions to support Australia's premier research organisation.Role OverviewThe Chief Information Officer (CIO) reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is a member of CSIRO's Leadership Team. CSIRO's CIO will be a pragmatic and inspirational leader responsible for providing organisational wide strategic leadership to deliver innovative and robust information governance and cyber services in managing and delivering CSIRO's information systems and IT infrastructure.This role requires a technically proficient CIO who displays an inherent strategically focused business mindset that is attuned to organisational needs to drive sustainable transformation.Location: Preference for CSIRO's capital city sites including Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane. Other capital city sites negotiable.Salary: Attractive Salary plus Motor Vehicle Allowance plus 15.4% super.Tenure: Specified Term of 3 years full-time.We are seeking a strategic, innovative and collaborative leader with demonstratable experience:as a senior IM&T leader, within an environment at the scale and complexity of CSIRO.developing and executing an IT vision and strategic plan that supports the organisation's goals and sustainability.developing and implementing business systems and processes that are efficient and effective and which harness best-available technology.fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within an IM&T department.fostering effective relationships that ensure alignment between stakeholder and organisational needs.in change management and in shaping, leading and driving business transformation that has achieved measurable improvements.managing financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, resource management, funding streams or programs, cost-effective IT solutions.modelling appropriate professional behaviour in the workplace, holding yourself and others to account.A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration (or a related discipline) from an Australian tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas qualification is expected.It is also highly desirable that the new CIO brings technical knowledge and understanding of information governance in the Commonwealth operating environment and/or experience working in a research organisation.EligibilityApplications for this position are open to Australian Citizens only.
