Western Australia Return Recycle Renew Limited (WARRRL) is a not-for-profit organisation designated by the WA Government to manage the Containers Deposit Scheme.Operating as Containers for Change, the program has established over 270 refund points across Western Australia, fostering employment through various organisations. To date, it has successfully diverted more than 3.4 billion containers from landfills, returning $340 million to Western Australians, including nearly $13 million to local charities and community initiatives. Moving forward, the organisation will place a stronger emphasis on the commercial and industrial sectors while increasing investment in public space collection.This Role:WARRRL is seeking an innovative and results-driven Chief Growth Officer with the drive to accelerate our container recovery growth and lead transformative stakeholder engagement and employee leadership initiatives. In this newly created role, you'll be at the forefront of our growth function, shaping our market offerings to meet and exceed industry demands.The role will focus on identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies to drive growth. At its core, the role will emphasise a commitment to social responsibility and the community, ensuring that growth initiatives align with sustainable and ethical practices.As a senior leader, you will work directly with the CEO and the executive leadership team to execute the strategic and annual business plans. This includes delivering on ambitious growth targets, with a focus on container recovery, while maintaining operational excellence and upholding the highest standards of compliance and integrity across the organisation. You will be tasked with growth leadership and your accountabilities include:Staying informed of industry trends to drive innovation and competitive advantage.Delivering on container recovery growth targets.Cultivating strong relationships with Government entities, refund point operators, peak bodies, and customer groups.Leading the preparation of proposals, presentations, and pitches to support growth objectives.Guiding and aligning growth, community, and marketing teams, ensuring alignment and efficiency of work plans, processes, and procedures.Developing community participation initiatives and fostering strategic partnerships.Ensuring the successful delivery of our Reflect RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan) Framework.About You:You are a seasoned leader with a passion for sustainability and social impact, combining strategic growth expertise with financial acumen and exceptional stakeholder relations. Your experience in senior corporate roles, especially within the FMCG or waste management sectors, has equipped you with a proven ability to lead through innovation and operational excellence. You will also have demonstrated experience in the following:High performing senior corporate executive from FMCG or waste management sectors.Customer management and development experience, preferably national account management responsibility.Very strong leadership skills, within a modern culture and work practices.Strong strategic skills and able to translate it to effective operational plans to meet organisational goals.Experienced at Board reporting level.An understanding of the complexity of operations in the circular economy with experience in retail, consumable goods, recycling, industrial and or logistics sectors with a focus on business growth will be well regarded.
