About the OneLife Group The OneLife Group is an Australian owned company, with two locations in the state of Victoria. These include a licensed GMP manufacturing laboratory in Wonthaggi, as well as a licensed cultivation site with glasshouses and outdoor growing operations in Officer.  The OneLife Group is a boutique producer of a range of medicinal cannabis products. We know that the significant therapeutic benefits of medicinal cannabis are yet to be fully realised. Our cultivating and manufacturing facility is designed to meet the needs of the ever-growing demand to treat a range of indications provided by this unique and powerful plant. About the role The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is central to providing strategic leadership for the organisation's corporate and financial governance. The CFO manages a small finance team and supports other departments on strategic financial matters.  The direct reports include an Accounts Payable Assistant and Accounts Receivable Assistant. Being a part of the executive team will also provide broader opportunities within the organisation to contribute to initiatives aimed at strengthening the OneLife Group's capability and capacity. This leadership role will identify and implement strategies which positions for growth and stability aligned with the future direction of the organisation. Sound knowledge and experience with corporate governance will provide a good foundation for the direct relationship with the CEO and Board. The position will ensure that all internal and external accountabilities relating to the organisation's finances are met, in a timely manner and of a high standard.  Responsibilities include, but not limited to: The following responsibilities are associated with this role: The position has a direct relationship with the Board to ensure:  compliance of all statutory and corporate governance procedures is adhered to. compliance with all matters outlined within the company's constitution are adhered to relevant Board policies and procedures are incorporated into a Board charter.  Together with the CEO and the executive team, to create structures for a cohesive and effective working executive relationship which sets a positive workplace culture and frameworks to meet operational and strategic outcomes for the OneLife Group.  Provide financial advice and analysis to the Board of Directors and CEO on all strategic and operational aspects of financial management for the OneLife Group.  Support of the leadership team in the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic operations. Implement robust financial and corporate management systems to increase the OneLife Group's efficiency, accountability, transparency, and decision-making.  Collaborate with other business functions to proactively identify opportunities for efficiencies and internal control improvements. Address findings to the management team and lead/assist in developing and executing process improvement initiatives. Maximise the OneLife Group's financial strength through effective cash flow management and appropriate investment strategies.  Review and analyse financial/management reports with communication to the Senior Management Team. Coordination of activities as required for financial and statutory reporting. Liaising with Banks and Government departments regarding grants and funding opportunities. Organising and supervising finance systems to ensure timely and accurate production of accounts and reports. Providing analysis and commentary regarding accounts and financial reports. Providing regular reports, recommendations, and interpretations to Senior Management on financial and operating data and variances in the budget. Preparing and submitting statutory returns. Establishing and continually modifying general accounting procedures and systems. Collating corporate budgets, monitoring, and reporting on performance. Organising credit control. Develop in-depth relationships with business functional heads to identify process and operational improvements.  Coordinate business development and improvement initiatives in respect of sales pricing, market research and operational costing. Ensuring efficient functioning of accounting and other financial internal systems. Provides training and support on accounting systems, procedures, and practices to the business units/operations. Manage the relationship with external accountants and auditors ensuring that the OneLife Group meets all requirements for annual financial statements.  Responsible for the financial stability of the operations including, input into strategic direction and operational efficiency, creating benchmark recommendation in correlation with company operation performance. Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with funders, suppliers and relevant OneLife Group partner organisations.  Foster and implement a commitment to continuous improvement.  Other duties consistent with the position when required and/or requested by the CEO and the Board. Qualifications required: Tertiary qualifications with CPA/CA accreditation. Bachelor of Accounting Finance of Commerce.  A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) is desirable. Requirements: Senior level financial management expertise, including taxation, compliance, asset management, insurance, reporting and legal issues in a complex organisation with significant income, contract management and reporting requirements.  Ability to operate strategically with an ability to problem solve, support and understand challenges at the operational level.  Significant leadership and management skills in working with, advising and/or supporting Boards.  Commitment to actively working as part of an executive leadership team. Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical reporting tools. Strong business acumen and ability to gain a deep understanding of total business operations. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact at a Senior Management level. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
