Our client, a growing and reputable organization is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their finance operations and drive the company's financial strategy. This pivotal role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the financial direction of the business, ensuring alignment with both short- and long-term objectives while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
As the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial wellbeing, managing budgets, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior leadership. The role will also include supporting administrative processes, improving financial systems, and driving efficiency within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & ReportingOversee the company's financial accounting, control, and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements.Develop, monitor, and manage budgets to ensure financial targets are met.Provide timely and accurate financial information to the Managing Director and senior leadership team.Ensure accurate tax reporting and management, coordinating with tax authorities and overseeing audits.Manage cash flow, banking systems, and treasury operations to optimize working capital and cash generation.Approve financial transactions including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and credit applications as per company policies.Develop management reports to support decision-making and track business performance.Ensure compliance with Corporate Law, PAYG, Payroll Tax, GST, FBT, and other relevant regulations.Operational Efficiency & Internal ControlsMonitor and enhance financial systems and procedures to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness, while adhering to legislative and regulatory requirements.Maintain strong internal controls to prevent financial mismanagement or loss.Work closely with auditors and ensure smooth audit processes.Review, update, and document all financial procedures and policies to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.Support the development of policies and procedures to mitigate financial and operational risks.Team Leadership & AdministrationSupervise and support administration and finance staff, ensuring optimal resource allocation and effective staffing.Foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment, ensuring effective communication across departments.Resolve staff issues and grievances, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and organizational goals.Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team, providing training, feedback, and support to staff.Strategic SupportCollaborate with senior management and project managers to align financial strategy with the company's operational goals.Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive business decisions and support the company's long-term growth.Ensure timely and accurate responses to financial queries and requests from various departments.Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.Skills & Experience Required:Education: Relevant degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.Professional Qualifications: CPA or ICAA membership required.Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in financial control, accounting, budgeting, and reporting.Proven experience managing and developing a finance team, including financial reporting, payroll, budgeting, and compliance.Expertise in interpreting Industrial Relations Awards and handling payroll implications.Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, AR/AP, tax regulations, credit control, and payroll legislation.Ability to analyze, interpret, and present complex financial data to senior leaders and stakeholders.Experience in developing and implementing financial processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly and accurately.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.If you are a strategic, results-oriented finance leader with experience in financial management and team development, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
