Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer
Company:

St Vincent's Health Australia

Details of the offer

Job Description:

Better and fairer care. Always.

St Vincent's has been a leader in Australia's health and aged care landscape for more than 165 years. Since our founders, the Sisters of Charity, opened our first hospital in 1857, our services and people have been behind some of Australia's most important medical breakthroughs. We are a microcosm of Australia's health and aged care system and are uniquely positioned to lead and respond to our rapidly changing environment.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a special kind of person - a St Vincent's kind of person. Someone who puts compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.

Reporting directly to our CEO - NSW Private Hospitals, the Chief Financial Officer will form an integral part of our NSW Executive Team responsible for financial and support services activities across St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney, The Mater Hospital Sydney and St Vincent's Private Community Hospital Griffith. Additionally, your contribution will be pivotal in providing professional financial and commercial services consistent with St Vincent's group wide financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and invest in relationships with St Vincent's leaders to foster a partnership approach and ensure strong alignment between hospital operations and the finance function.
Develop, implement and oversee a collaborative and robust budgeting and forecast process to achieve financial objectives.
Advance appropriate systems and structures to ensure the provision of robust and relevant financial advice, support and regular financial reporting to staff to improve their decision making, collaboration, communication, and financial performance.
Deliver against annually agreed financial and operational performance targets.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, promote professional development, and ensure the team's alignment with organisational goals.
Ensure optimal structures and processes are in place for achievement of financial improvement initiatives and maintain a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation to support financial sustainability.
Experience in negotiating and managing commercial agreements.
Implement and ensure compliance with divisional and group wide financial policies and procedures.
Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of direct reports, particularly by fostering a high performance operating environment, providing mentorship to direct reports and future leaders across the organisation.

About You

Because you're like us, you believe in our vision that every person, whoever and wherever they are, is served with excellent and compassionate care, by a better and fairer health and aged care system. Better for all our employees and volunteers, who work tirelessly to provide the highest levels of care and quality of life for our patients and clients. And better support for the local communities we play an important role in and continue to support.

The successful applicant will have proven experience leading a finance and support services team, oversee and provide financial analysis recommendations and advice, partner with department heads to analyse financial data and craft budgets, attest to the accuracy of reports and consult with the CEO on strategy.
