Reporting to the Executive Director, Business Operations, the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) contributes to the achievement and enhancement of EDQ's outcomes through efficient and effective financial and resource management, the provision of best practice financial service, systems and policies, and authoritative professional analysis and advice.We are seeking a dynamic leader to help deliver on EDQ's vision, develop appropriate strategies and achieve results that contribute to the delivery of economic and community development outcomes for Queensland.
In this role, you will lead a team of over 17 professionals providing strategic financial and accounting policy advisory services to EDQ's Executive Leadership Team.
Your team is responsible for the delivery of the annual budget cycle, end of financial year financial reporting, procurement, and the provision of strategic financial management advice and services to the business areas within EDQ.
The team also provides direction and technical leadership on all financial matters, including input into business cases for existing and new business.Under the Financial and Accountability Act 2009, the officer assuming the role of the Chief Finance Officer must, as a minimum, hold one of the following minimum mandatory memberships/qualifications:CPA or above (for Australia), orCA or above (the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia), orMIPA or above (the Institute of Public Accountants), orqualifications from an accounting body or recognized by at least two of the aforementioned bodies as having equivalent requirements for membership.Above all, we are seeking dynamic individuals with the ability to collaborate in an exciting, fast-paced environment.
