As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) you will lead and manage the financial, procurement management, property, integrity and security of the Office, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
As CFO, you will take responsibility for the Office's financial and procurement strategic planning, management and compliance. You will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining financial allocations and budgets and providing strategic advice to the senior executive and the Ombudsman. You will also be responsible for the efficient management of leasing, maintenance and property services of the Office, as well as ensuring the Office meetings is the integrity and security requirements and obligations.
The CFO's responsibilities are part of the core enabling functions of the Office, supporting effective service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders.
This process will also be used to establish a merit pool for future vacancies across the Office arising from the date of advertisement.
The key duties of the position include
Motivate, build, and inspire the team, through collaborative leadership.Work effectively in a trusted relationship with stakeholders, such as the Attorney-General's Department, the Department of Finance, the Australian National Audit Office, internal and external audit providers, and other agencies on financial management, audit matters, security and integrity issues.Lead financial management, accounting operations and reporting to meet the Office's obligations under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act), including: cash/treasury management; CBMS management; procurement; asset management; taxation matters; and the management and review of financial internal controls.Prepare financial information including Portfolio Budget Statements as well as monthly and annual financial statements to meet the Office's statutory reporting obligations.Advise senior management on financial opportunities, security and fraud matters, risks and performance; provide advice and support to senior leaders on financial management; develop budgets and resource allocations.Lead a culture of innovation to enhance the Office's financial, security and integrity management frameworks.Contribute to other corporate priorities and functions.Adhere to the APS Values, Code of Conduct and demonstrating capability in line with the APS Integrated Leadership System and Work Level Standards at the EL2 level.
