We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Mining Accountant to join our team and play a crucial role in our financial operations, reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the GM's and PM's.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the financial accounting and reporting processes for mining operations, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.Monitor and manage financial performance, identifying variances and providing actionable insights to senior management.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and drive operational efficiencies.Manage payroll, cost accounting, and financial audits in alignment with BGR's policies and regulations.Assist in the implementation of financial systems and reporting tools to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.Mentor and support junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting within the mining or heavy industries.Strong understanding of financial regulations and best practices in Australia.Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
