Job DescriptionAbout the Role: The Chief Financial Officer is a strategic leadership role that will work closely with the CEO, ELT and other internal stakeholders to develop strategic direction, annual operation plan, budget, and organisational outcomes by driving contemporary change management and continuous improvement across the business.
This role will also support the Finance, Audit, Risk Management (FARM) Committee, along with the Board of the Centre for Eye Health.
The business has a loyal, passionate base of staff and you should be a visible and engaged CFO across the organisation.
Main Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of financial strategies aligned with the organisation's mission and goals.Provide expert financial advice and reporting to the CEO and Board.Oversee the preparation of budgets, financial statements, and ensure compliance with all statutory and financial requirements.Ensure effective financial and management controls, appropriate management accounting and reporting systems, budgetary controls and expenditure procedures are in place.Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and funders to ensure financial transparency.Drive financial planning, forecasting, and the implementation of financial management systems.Provide effective leadership and mentorship to Finance and Facilities Management functions staff.Minimum Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA/CA Accreditation.5-8 years of senior financial management experience in a complex organisation.Strong leadership experience, with a proven ability to advise and collaborate with Boards and Executive teams.Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills, openness to ideas, and the ability to consider alternatives and consequences, able to negotiate and resolve situations effectively.Previous experience within the not-for-profit industry.An understanding of the disability sector.Benefits that Guide Dogs offer: As a member of the Guide Dogs team, you will have access to a wide range of benefits tailored to your needs.
