Full time Homes Tasmania is Tasmania's statutory housing authority established under the Homes Tasmania Act 2022. Homes Tasmania is building homes and creating opportunities for Tasmanians by delivering the Government's plan to provide 10,000 social and affordable homes by 2032.
Homes Tasmania works with government, industry, the private sector, and the social housing and homelessness sector to improve the housing market and provide more housing opportunities for people in need. Through the work of Homes Tasmania, Tasmanians will benefit from a resilient and diverse housing market that allows them to continue to improve their housing situation and the opportunities that better housing makes possible.
The newly created role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a statewide role providing high-level financial and strategic leadership to Homes Tasmania. Based in Hobart, the CFO will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board, and Executive team to deliver our financial and budget strategy including ensuring high-value contracts for housing and homelessness assistance programs are delivered efficiently and effectively and in line with program priorities.
As an integral part of the Executive team, the CFO will play a pivotal role in driving the organisation's continued growth and development journey and cultivating a high-performance culture. The provision of strategic advice on financial and investment issues, capital structuring, and providing input into the development of new products or methods of delivering housing, and commercial negotiations are key responsibilities of the role.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic and engaging leader with highly developed practical financial management and accounting skills with strategic commercial acumen and relevant tertiary qualifications. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, together with high-level stakeholder engagement skills are also critical to the success of the role.
