Details of the offer

The City of Glenorchy, located within Greater Hobart, is Tasmania's fourth largest local government area. With a population of just over 51,000 people, Glenorchy is a vibrant, progressive and multicultural City experiencing significant growth. We are looking for a new Chief Financial Officer who can help us to realise Council's purpose to be a welcoming Council, representing our community and providing services to make Glenorchy a better place every day. For further information, please visit www.gcc.tas.gov.au.

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the planning, implementing, managing and controlling of all financial and associated strategic financial risk management activities, including the provision of a comprehensive financial and management accounting service to all functional areas of Council. Reporting to the Director Community & Corporate Services, the role is a key contributor and advisor to the Executive Leadership Team.

Working in partnership with managers across the organisation, this dynamic and impactful role will drive strategic initiatives designed to improve performance and enhance the capabilities and operational efficiency of Council. The role will suit a contemporary leader with highly developed people leadership skills and the ability to cultivate a high-performance team culture with a business partnering mindset. Experience working in Local Government or complex customer-focused organisations would be beneficial.

This is a rewarding opportunity to bring innovation, contribute at a strategic level to the overall leadership and corporate objectives of the organisation, and lead a highly motivated team towards the shared vision and values of Council.
