Edward River Council is looking for an experienced senior leader to lead a high performing finance team and to provide executive level strategic financial advice to ensure Council's plans for future sustainability are realised.Generous salary package for the right candidate circa $190k TRPAccess to Council's flexible and hybrid working arrangementsAn opportunity to have a real impact on the financial strategy of CouncilWork with a high performing and close-knit team that shares your passionBe part of our ambitious future transformation plans for the community and CouncilFull time, permanentEnjoy fantastic benefits including a 9-day fortnight, access to our health and wellbeing program, salary sacrifice and remote area benefits and ongoing training and development opportunitiesAbout the RoleAs the senior leader of the finance team, you will:Provide strong and motivated leadership, ensuring a high level of performance and professional development to build the finance team capability as business enablersLead the implementation of key strategies to achieve financial sustainability, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial risk management.Lead the implementation of the Council's financial management framework, policies, and procedures.Work in partnership with the Executive Team to provide financial advice and support in decision-making and risk managementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the community, government agencies, and financial institutions.Lead the ongoing review and implementation of Council's long-term financial sustainability strategy.Foster a culture of accountability, safety, partnership, innovation, continuous improvement, and team development.About youIdeally you will:Bachelor of Accounting or Business or similar and Certified Practicing Accountant.Contemporary experience in comparable financial management roles in a Local or other government context, including developing organisational budgets, long-term financial plans, and reporting financial performance and quarterly budget reviews within an integrated planning and reporting and asset management framework.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a breadth of stakeholders including government, business and community.Be a dynamic, supportive and positive leader who promotes positive workplace culture.Be responsive and customer focussed and able to produce quality work to deadlines.Have experience in similar roles in a government context.Closing Date:
