About the Role

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board, the Chief Financial Officer will oversee Energy Queensland's financial, commercial, and business services functions. This influential role will drive the development of financial strategies and governance frameworks, ensuring they align with government mandates and support the organisation's long-term sustainability objectives.The primary responsibilities inherent in this role are:

Develop and execute financial strategies to achieve corporate objectives and enhance shareholder value.Oversee investment governance, financial planning, and operational budget management.Drive efficiency through enterprise-wide process improvements and procurement excellence.Foster a high performance culture by leading and mentoring a diverse team.Serve as the primary interface with government stakeholders, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.Champion sustainability and reconciliation initiatives across the organisation.This role requires a strong leader capable of navigating complex financial, political, and industrial environments while delivering best-in-class outcomes.

About You

We are seeking a seasoned senior finance executive with a proven history of driving financial transformation in large, complex organisations. With a strategic mindset and exceptional stakeholder management skills, you will ensure sustainable outcomes are achieved and align with overarching organisational goals.

To be considered for this position you will possess:CA or CPA post graduate qualificationExtensive experience in financial leadership within a large complex organisationStrong commercial acumen and solid understanding of corporate governance and procurement.Demonstrated success in leading high performing teams through periods of change and growth.Understanding of sustainability frameworks and ESG risk management.If you're passionate about driving financial excellence, advancing sustainability, and making a strategic impact, this is your chance to play a pivotal role in shaping Queensland's energy future.
