We are seeking a strategic and values-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our senior leadership team.Job SummaryThe CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and long-term vision of our bank. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving financial performance that aligns with our commitment to member value and community impact. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a smaller, collaborative environment and is passionate about mutual banking principles.The CFO is a key member of the executive leadership team and a valuable adviser to various management committees.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the bank's financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.Develop and execute financial strategies to support growth, profitability, and member value.Oversee the bank's treasury, liquidity and interest risk management processes, and investment activities, ensuring compliance with Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA) and Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) requirements.Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team and Board of Directors.Prepare and present regular financial reports, analysis, and performance metrics, including monthly financial report to the Board and Annual Report to members.Responsible for the preparation and lodgement of regulatory reporting to APRA, quarterly business activity statements, annual fringe benefits tax return and annual tax return.Collaborate with other departments to drive operational efficiencies and optimise financial resources.Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, wholesale deposit brokers and other financial institutions.Champion the bank's values and ensure alignment with our mission to support the financial well-being of our members.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or CA designation preferred.Minimum 5 years' experience in financial management, within the banking or financial services sector.Strong knowledge of APRA regulations and accounting standards in Australia.Proven track record of strategic financial leadership and successful budget management.Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Committed to high standards of quality and accuracy.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.A collaborative, team-oriented approach with a passion for community-based banking.
