This is a critical role ensuring the continued success of Queensland Rail by fostering a strong financial foundation and leading transformative initiatives.
We're looking for an astute commercial leader capable of identifying and optimising revenue generation and resource utilisation while carefully balancing this with the need to deliver public value and essential services to Queenslanders.
While the core skills will be well aligned to those of a Chief Financial Officer, you will lead a broader set of corporate functions providing the opportunity to have a wider impact.
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Queensland Rail is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving financial performance and strategic growth.
The CFO ensures transparent financial management, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and revenue strategies while maintaining responsible stewardship of public funds.
Key responsibilities include: Engaging with stakeholders including government bodies and industry associationsLeading the Finance and Corporate Services teamProviding strategic direction for transformation projectsOverseeing corporate governance and legal functions
The role calls for a leader with a comprehensive approach to financial leadership, balancing commercial opportunities with public service obligations.
The CFO works closely with their colleagues on the executive team to secure funding, develop talent, and implement critical organisational initiatives such as enterprise resource planning systems.
