The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will provide high level financial and strategic leadership, working collaboratively with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Homes Tasmania Board and Executive Team to deliver on strategy and ensure high value contracts for the delivery of housing and homelessness services, and home ownership programs are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Salary: $151,529.00 to $166,576.00 pro rata, per annum - plus 11.5 % Superannuation
Classification: Senior Executive Level 1. Payment of Salary above the base salary of the advertised range is subject to an annual performance assessment.

Duties: Primary Purpose / Focus:
Homes Tasmania is Tasmania's statutory housing authority established under the Homes Tasmania Act 2022 . The CFO will provide high level financial and strategic leadership to Homes Tasmania, working closely with the CEO, Board, and Executive team to deliver financial and budget strategy, ensuring high value contracts for housing and homelessness assistance programs are delivered efficiently and effectively.
As an integral part of the Executive team, the CFO will play a pivotal role in driving the organisation's growth and development, cultivating a high-performance culture. Key responsibilities include providing strategic advice on financial and investment issues, capital structuring, and input into the development of new products or methods of delivering housing, and commercial negotiations.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic and engaging leader with highly developed practical financial management and accounting skills, strategic commercial acumen, and relevant tertiary qualifications. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, along with high level stakeholder engagement skills, are critical to the success of the role.

Skills and experience: Selection criteria includes:
Extensive knowledge and proven experience of contemporary management practices with the capacity to effectively manage human, financial and physical resources in a complex specialised environment.
Demonstrated capability to inspire a sense of purpose and direction; show judgement, intelligence and common sense; provide high-level analysis and development of long-term strategic policy advice; and identify emerging issues and advise on how to address them from a holistic perspective.
Significant experience in senior management and leadership in a public sector organisation, including managing across multidisciplinary teams and multiple settings.
Demonstrated experience in developing high-level strategic financial strategy, with the ability to provide high-level advice and recommendations to a CEO or board.
High level experience in the delivery of social housing in government or community housing sectors.
Experience in risk management application to property development, construction, and project delivery.
Understanding of risk management, accounting standards in both public sector and commercial environments.
Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, with membership of either CPA Australia or the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
