The National Blood Authority (NBA) is an Australian Government statutory agency whose role is to work in a collaborative manner with the Commonwealth and all State and Territory governments and other responsible parties to ensure that Australia's blood supply is safe, secure, adequate and affordable.
Job Context :
The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) provides strategic advice to the NBA Chief Executive, Senior Management Group, and the broader NBA.The CFO is responsible for the leadership and management of the financial and business services functions and plays a critical role in enabling the NBA to achieve its goals.
The NBA is looking for a highly motivated leader with organisational agility, high level emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.You will have deep knowledge and experience in Commonwealth financial management, accountabilities and obligations, and best practice corporate management. This role requires capability across strategy development, governance, execution and operational delivery.
Primary Job Purpose :
The duties and responsibilities of this position will require you to:
Provide effective leadership and management of the NBA Finance and Business Services function, including delivery of associated activities, services and projectsProvide strategic input into organisational strategy and culture as part of the senior management groupProvide expert advice on financial operations, financial management, budget development and resource allocationEnsure the delivery of a range of financial and corporate (nonICT) planning, assurance and compliance requirements, including audit, fraud, and operational planning, and a range of business services to support NBA operationsProactively engage and collaborate with senior executive, governance committees, senior management and the wider NBA and build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholdersManage the work performance and development of team members by providing strategic direction, leadership, guidance, and coachingPrepare quality papers, briefs, presentations and correspondence, andManage facilities services arrangements, including property management services and the coordination of associated activities.
