The CEO works closely with the Board, staff, stakeholders, and the broader community to advance the TLC's mission of conserving Tasmania's natural landscapes and biodiversity.The Board is seeking a visionary leader with a passion for conservation, proven senior leadership experience, strong fundraising and financial management skills, and excellent communication abilities. They will possess a collaborative approach and a deep commitment to advancing the TLC's purpose of protecting Tasmania's natural environment.Essential Experience, Skills and CompetenciesA passion for conservation and a deep commitment to the TLC's mission.Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within the not-for-profit or environmental sector.Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.Excellent fundraising and financial management abilities.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.Knowledge of conservation science, land management, and environmental policies is highly desirable.Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, business management, or a related field.Personal AttributesVisionary and inspirational leader.Strategic and innovative thinker.Collaborative and team-oriented approach.Integrity and ethical conduct.Adaptable and resilient in the face of challenges.The Tasmanian Land Conservancy is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.Because of current Australian visa regulations, only candidates with Australian/New Zealand residency or citizenship are eligible to apply.The organisationThe Tasmanian Land Conservancy is a not-for-profit, apolitical, science and community-based organisation that protects nature on private land in Tasmania.Its vision is for Tasmania to be a global leader in nature conservation. Tasmania is home to a unique array of plants and wildlife, many of which are found nowhere else in the world.While Tasmania is well known for its large and iconic national parks and reserves, a number of the species that call Tasmania home are still under threat of disappearing forever. Tasmania's remarkable plants and wildlife rely on the critical habitat that only occurs on private land.The TLC was established in 2001 and is now one of Tasmania's largest private landholders. The TLC buys land of high natural value to protect habitats for rare and threatened species into the future. It also works with landholders to identify, protect and manage habitat on their own properties.
